GiveLove Art Benefit for Haiti

Posted by mima On September - 18 - 2011

September 15th, friends of GiveLove – including Neil Patrick Harris, David Arquette, Balthazar Getty, Joaquin Phoenix – showed their support for GiveLove’s work, raising funds to bring training programs and support to some of the poorest communities across Haiti. “Every year, thousands of children die because of water borne diseases,” said Patricia Arquette, Founder of GiveLove. “The ongoing cholera epidemic has been catastrophic, we want people to know that we haven’t forgotten them and we haven’t forgotten Haiti.”

Imagine a city the size of Los Angeles with no safe drinking water and no bathrooms – the effect would be devastating. Toilets may be a taboo topic for some of us, but for Haitian children, men and women, a single clean toilet can be a lifesaver for communities. Founded by Patricia Arquette & Rosetta Getty, GiveLove provides more than 4,000 school children with access to compost toilets and helps numerous communities learn how to compost human and organic waste and to recycle it into nutrient rich soil. Compost sanitation prevents the spread of dangerous diseases and improves public health.

Patricia Arquette Gets Hands On in Haiti

Posted by Mediumfan On July - 7 - 2011

Last year, when actress Patricia Arquette cofounded the nonprofit GiveLove with Rosetta Getty (wife of actor Balthazar), the two women had a plan: To help rebuild post-earthquake Haiti, they would try to improve sanitation systems and use abandoned shipping containers to create homeless shelters. But as the rainy season approached, they distributed tents and mosquito nets as well. “Need is everywhere,” says Arquette, noting that GiveLove also built an orphanage that shelters 170 children and 30 at-risk teenage girls. “People say, ‘Just choose one thing and do it.’ But why? If there are kids sleeping on the ground, you say, ‘Let’s get them in bunk beds.’ Different groups need different things.”

End of Medium

Posted by mima On January - 25 - 2011

The day that we Medium fans have dreaded arrived last Friday and the episode gave us some kind of closure. I know that there are people who hated it (my neighbors for sure, I was howling like a wolf during full moon), and others found it to be the perfect ending. What ever category you feel you belong, the ending of the show is what upsets us all. Thankfully we have the DVD’s to fall back on when times get rough and we feel the withdrawal symptoms creeping on.

We at Patricia-Arquette.com would like to thank the cast and crew of the wonderful years that the show has brought us and  we wish you the best with your future projects. What ever the future brigs to Patricia Arquette we will keep you informed.

Posted by Mediumfan On November - 19 - 2010

Once again, Patricia’s organization, Give Love, has teamed with Satya Jewelry to raise funds for the people of Haiti, who remain at risk since the earthquake of January of this year. Satya Jewelry has created the Hope bracelet, with 100% of the funds going to Give Love to benefit their work in Haiti.

“We share Patricia’s passion for this cause and we’re thrilled to be working with her. We simply cannot forget what has happened in Haiti and the tragedy affecting these innocent children and the beautiful people of Haiti.”
Satya Scainetti, co-founder of Satya Jewelry.

“The Hope, Love & Healing necklace and bracelet are the perfect embodiment of what we are trying to bring to Haiti: Hope through safe and sustainable housing, sanitation solutions, and water filtration devises. Thank you Satya Jewelry and your customers for your beautiful craftsmanship and your open hearts!”
Patricia Arquette.
